What could hinder you?

06/04/2010

The same way that low or no funds can trigger low mood, any form of lack or loss can trigger feelings of sadness, shame, inadequacy, etc. If one’s lack or dissatisfaction is about health, relationships or spiritual growth… every fact in your current experience about sickness or disease, unfulfilled relationships and spiritual uncertainty or disappointment is likely to be the dominant content of your thoughts. Here I am NOT speaking about causation. I am NOT saying that anyone is lacking because of how they think. This is NOT what I am saying. I AM saying that the information about one’s past and present lacking experiences, less than ideal circumstances, hurts and disappointments occupies an individual’s mind. There is no way that anyone would not have this information in their short- and long-term memory bank (unless they have cognitive difficulties.)

Yesterday I focused on how one’s financial facts can limit one’s ability to fully engage in the visioning process, mostly because it is a common  concern affecting so many people in Real Talk About Success. Today I want to make the point that ANY lacking or less than ideal facts in one’s current and past experiences can hinder motivation for the visioning process.  C’mon now, if you are suffering from a chronic or terminal illness, had a series of unfulfilled relationships and a combination of painful and confusing spiritual/religious experiences… are you going to be excited about envisioning your Greatest Picture of Success (G.P.S.) just because you read my blog? Nope. I don’t think so. Instead, my words probably triggered a thought process containing a stream of recollections about where you actually are at with your health, career, relationships, money and spirituality. Thinking about where you want to be, what you want to have and how you want to live may be a HUGE reminder of that gap between your current experience and your unrealized potential. And there are a whole lot of emotions there. Or, this only happens to me and all of my clients.  =)

So now what? Know that this is normal. “Go in” on the thoughts and emotions that come up for you. Write them down. This is a great opportunity to increase your self-awareness and heal through what is coming up for you. Whether you choose the exclusively independent self-analysis route or utilize the services of a trained therapist/healing practitioner, remember that your past and current experiences (especially the less than ideal ones) are not a forecast of your future experiences unless you let them. If I can be of service to you in your process, I would be honored. Contact me at HealingTruthCenter.com.

P.S. Tomorrow I will be hosting my monthly Blogtalkradio show. The topic is “The Courage to Conquer Fear”  featuring Reverend Gregory C. Guice. Tune in at 10am Eastern if you would like to participate in the show!
