Letting Go

Now is the time of fulfillment, and to experience the fullness of it we can actually let go and rest in the assurance of things hoped for… Thy will be done…

Letting go seems to be a process that never actually ends. There always seems to be someone, something, some place, a circumstance, situations, beliefs and ideas, stories and… (fill in the blank because the list is endless) that one can let go. No matter how much we may know this intellectually and theoretically, the process is embedded with emotions and may very well seem like the hardest thing to do at times. While at times this process can be VERY easy, the “work” of self-mastery and mastery in the art of living is in uncovering and transforming the seemingly hard parts of the process.

A Bible passage that often helps me through the ongoing process of letting go is “When that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part shall be done away.” After meditating on these words somehow I am at peace and know that all is well, in letting go that which is perfect (a blessing) is come and it is absolutely okay to let go of whatever I had chosen to hold to ever so tightly until that moment.

I believe firmly in the idea of collective wisdom, which is shared knowledge arrived at by individuals and groups, used to solve problems and conflicts of all humanity. Perhaps the sharing of your story or knowledge about letting go will support the journey of another soul who is still in process with letting go and you can learn from others too. So I invite you to share your thoughts and experiences with letting go. I will share too, but you first. 🙂
